I am a California licensed acupuncturist, herbalist, and certified massage therapist living in Oakland, CA since 2001. I earned a B.A. in Biology with a minor in Holistic Health before receiving my Master’s degree in Chinese Medicine. I started in the healing arts in 1996 after caring for my father in hospice. One day my father, who had been bedridden for months, asked me to massage his feet for him. Grateful for an opportunity to do something useful for him, I was amazed to see how powerfully the massage transformed both his spirit and his overall pain level. Today, I continue to use a hands-on approach to my acupuncture sessions, often incorporating bodywork to diagnose, treat pain and restore balance. My goal is to help you live in your body pain-free and in harmony with the seasons and the natural world.
I love learning the complexities of herbal medicine. I have spent my post graduate years learning Classical Chinese Medicine (CCM) with distinguished doctors from China. CCM looks at your body’s pattern through the unique lens of the Han dynasty and chooses herbs that match your pattern. I use CCM to diagnose and address fertility, pain, allergies, sleep, anxiety – and more. I study your symptoms diligently to ensure that the formula I choose for you will get to the root of your issues and address your symptoms quickly so that you can live your best life.
